Patient participation group

The aims of the patient participation group

  • CASAG PPG Mission Statement

"Working together to make the patient experience a positive one"

By working together, we will help promote outstanding healthcare at Castle Mead and Pine Close surgeries. We will contribute towards the continuous improvement of services by offering practical support to the surgery through various campaigns.

CASAG stands for the Castle Mead and Stoke Golding Action Group.

The group was formed as a Committee on the 6th March 2008, under the watchful eye of Dr Patterson and consists of patients registered at the surgery and who want to help shape the future of the practice by working with others. The group are here to act as a liaison between staff and patients and we are also here to promote the positive side of health care and wherever possible, to encourage people to have an active role in determining their own health and well-being.

There may be activities on health issues for you to attend and we will try to make them as varied as possible, as well as self-help groups with selected patients talking about their own health problems. We produce a newsletter once every quarter. We would like to know how we can improve our service to you and how you perceive our surgery and staff.

Patient Group Meeting are held every 4 to 6 weeks with the time and venue being swapped between sites and agreed in advance at the previous meeting. Most meetings run from 6:00pm to 7.00pm.

We will ask the members of this representative group some questions from time to time, such as what you think about our opening times or the quality of the care or service you received. We will contact you via email and keep our surveys succinct so it shouldn’t take too much of your time.

We are always activly recruiting for new members but we would specifically like to hear from young people, males, people with long term conditions and people from non-British ethnic groups to increase the input from those demographics.
